    NDIS plans can be confusing – especially if you are navigating it for the first time. But knowing what is in your plan and how to use it can make all the difference in achieving the right support.

Understand Your Funding Categories

Your plan will usually include three support budgets:

  • Core Supports: Everyday activities like personal care; meals; community access.
  • Capacity Building: Skill development; therapies; employment support.
  • Capital Supports: Equipment; assistive technology; home modifications or SDA.

Know What Is Flexible – and What Is Not

Some funding can move between categories; some cannot. For example; most Core budget items are flexible – but Capital funding is very specific.
